Deputies were called to Sims Middle School in Union, S.C. on Friday morning because the 13-year-old student appeared to be intoxicated.
The school's principal conducted a search in the boy's backpack, where he found nine empty mini bottles of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey, plus a half-empty mini bottle and two unopened mini bottles of the same cinnamon-flavored drink, the incident report reads, according to WYFF. Miniatures typically contain 50 ml of liquor, meaning the student may have consumed 450 ml of the 66-proof liquor. The incident report also states that the student had passed out "an undetermined number of mini bottles to other students," and four unopened bottles were recovered.
The student allegedly took the mini bottles from his grandfather's home without his knowledge. After being taken to an area hospital, the minor was arrested and charged with public drunkenness and possessing liquor at school. He was released into the custody of his mother.
