Middle school students could face felony charge after giving crepes allegedly containing bodily fluids to teachers
Multiple middle school students in Powell, Ohio, are under investigation after they allegedly gave urine and semen-filled crepes to their teachers during a "Global Gourmet" class, according to WBNS.
The incident is said to have occurred on Thursday at Hyatts Middle School, according to Olentangy Local School District, during which time the students were participating in a cooking competition, where the teachers served as judges.
The disgusting act was allegedly captured on video and some of the footage was circulating on Thursday, according to the police report. When school administrators learned of the actions, they contacted authorities.
As of Monday, the local sheriff's office was conducting an investigation, but no charges have yet been filed. Due to the incident occurring on school property and the victims being teachers, the students involved could face a felony charge of assault.
Brad Koffel, an attorney for one of the suspects, asked the public to use "caution before reaching any conclusions."
"[The incident] easily could have been a prank that may have been mocked up for the purposes of creating a video," Koffel told WBNS. "We don't know if urine or semen was ever placed in anyone's food. I don't know how the school would know that."
Olentangy Local Schools have issued the following statement: "The safety and security of our students and staff is of utmost importance. District leadership and local law enforcement are conducting a thorough investigation into this incident, and anyone found in violation of school policies will be held accountable for their actions. We are also focusing our efforts to support the teachers impacted by this incident."
The sheriff's office is currently conducting lab tests to verify what, if any, substances were in the food provided to the teachers.
