Midstate cafeteria becomes Wonka’s Chocolate Factory
COLONIAL PARK, Pa. (WHTM) — Students at Central Dauphin’s Northside Elementary School had a very unique lunch experience Wednesday.
The cafeteria became Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.

The principal dressed as Willy Wonka, and other employees danced as Oompa Loompas.
Some kids won new bikes and other prizes.
“It’s the best. It fills your heart,” Amie Weikel, director of food and nutrition at Central Dauphin, said. “There’s nothing like it. Seeing the kids cry because they won a new bike, it’s amazing.”
“We get to regress to our youth and it’s just, it’s one of those things that everybody knows, and it’s common, and it brings everybody together,” Sharon Kidd, senior director of food and nutrition, said. “It’s like the best chaos in the world.”
The Food and Nutrition Group organized al the fun.
They’ve brought themed lunches to multiple schools across the district.
