Craving a rich indulgent cookie but don't have the time, inclination, or skill to bake?

A newly opened Durbin Park dessert shop promises that its freshly made gourmet cookies are ready, willing and more than able to satisfy that craving.

Known for its freshly baked, multi-layer stuffed cookies, Dirty Dough is the newest addition to The Pavilion at Durbin Park in Saint Johns. Located at 90 Durbin Pavilion Drive, Suite C-103, the "grab-and-go-style" dessert shop is the first in Northeast Florida from husband-and-wife franchise owners Caleb and Jalen Hutchinson of St. Augustine. Dirty Dough also offers custom specialty sodas, ice cream and ultimately some edible cookie dough.

The 1,470-square-foot Durbin Park store is also the first to open in Florida for Dirty Dough, founded in 2018 in Tempe, Ariz. Other shops in the state are planned for Orlando, Pensacola and Sarasota, according to the company's website.

The cookie shop neighbors Cinemark movie theater and restaurants including Keke's Breakfast CafePeterbrooke Chocolatier, Trattoria di Bernardone, and more at the retail center.

Dirty Dough cookies stand out, Hutchinson previously told the Times-Union, because they are triple layers, which is unique.

"They are probably the pinnacle of sweet treats," Hutchinson said of the cookies described by the company on its website as "super-stuffed cookie bombs."

As for the name, "Dirty" refers to all the fillings, mix-ins and layers that go into the cookie process.

Dirty Dough says on its website that "we aren’t trying to win any beauty contest with our cookies. We don’t care about being picture-perfect — cookies are for eating!"
