New Miley music is coming!
Miley Cyrus has been famous since her Hannah Montana days, and TBH even before. (I mean, her godmother is Dolly Parton.)
Based on the last year, she’s showing no signs of loosening her grip on her pop culture icon status. Her single "Flowers” was #1 on the Billboard Charts for eight consecutive weeks after its release, and it's popped in and of that spot in the months following. Currently, it sits at number nine on the charts—over six months after its release. Even Diane Keaton loves it.
"Flowers" was the lead single off of Miley's newest album Endless Summer Vacation, which dropped on March 10, 2023.
This week, Miley announced another brand new single "Used To Be Young" dropping on August 25, 2023. "This song is dedicated to my loyal fans," Miley wrote in her Instagram announcement's caption. "I love YOU for loving every version of ME."
The single will accompany another project Miley recently completed: the latest installment of her backyard sessions series: Endless Summer Vacation (backyard sessions). The film, which is currently available to watch on Disney+, will be released on ABC on August 24 with exclusive new interview footage.
With all of this big Miley news, it’s understandable to have questions about her life, family, love life, and more, including how much she’s worth. (You’re only human, after all.) Here’s the deal.
She made a lot of money from Hannah Montana.
Miley got her big break on Disney’s Hannah Montana when she was a kid, and racked in a pretty enormous salary at the time. Miley was named one of TV’s “richest kids” by the New York Post back in 2010, which noted that she made an estimated $15,000 per episode.
Considering the fact there were 98 episodes over Hannah Montana’s run, the stint definitely led to some big cash. Of course, that also helped pave the way for endorsement deals, concerts, and more. “Miley is worth a billion—but she’s not making a billion on TV,” a source told the New York Post. “But her franchise is worth a billion.”
All in, Hannah Montana helped Miley earn $134 million by the time she was 18, according to Forbes. That might not even include ticket sales for her concerts or Hannah Montana: The Movie, which grossed $155.5 million at the box office. It's likely Miley got a pretty big paycheck from that, too.
In addition to her double life, the 30-year-old singer was also was a main voice actor in Disney's Bolt, and had a leading role in the The Last Song, which earned $310 million, and $89 million at the box office respectively. No word on exactly what Miley made for each, but it was probably significant.
She has released seven studio albums and three live albums.
While Miley’s breakout role was playing a secret rock star on TV, she became an IRL musician and ended up releasing eight (!) studio albums and three live albums over the years. Put simply: Miley’s been busy.
Miley naturally made plenty of cash from those albums, but she really raked it in on her tours. A few examples: Her Best Of Both Worlds Tour, which lasted from 2007 to early 2008, made more than $54 million, according to Billboard. Her Bangerz tour reportedly netted more than $62 million, and there were plenty of multi-million dollar tours in between.
Her latest album, Endless Summer Vacation sold over 103,000 album equivalents in its first week, and "Flowers" is undoubtedly the biggest hit of Miley's career thus far, according to Billboard.
Miley appeared on The Voice.
Miley was a coach on seasons 11 and 13 of The Voice and, while her salary wasn’t publicly disclosed, she reportedly pulled in $13 million a season.
In 2022, she hit the Forbes '30 Under 30' list.
Last year, Miley landed on the famed Forbes 30 under 30 list, which recognizes people for their influence. “I’m happy to be all the things that people need me to be,” she said in the interview. “As long as I’m all the things that I need me to be first.”
The magazine also reported that she set a $40 million deal with NBCUniversal in May 2022 to produce three specials for television–which probably includes the upcoming Endless Summer Vacation (backyard sessions) which drops August 24, 2023. Her wallet is getting thicker and thicker!
Miley also owns a lot of pricey property.
The star isn’t hurting for land, either. She bought a Mediterranean-style Malibu mansion in 2022 for $7.9 million, according to Architectural Digest. It boasts 6,568 square feet and offers panoramic views of the ocean, whitewater, canyon, and mountain vistas, according to the publication.
Miley also reportedly owns a $5.8 million mansion in her hometown of Franklin, Tennessee, and owns a $3.9 million mansion in Studio City, Calif., according to Architectural Digest.
And she's done some big-name sponsorships, too.
Miley hasn’t been super big on the sponsorship front, but she has done a few in her time. For one, she appeared in Gucci’s Flora Gorgeous Jasmine Eau de Parfum campaign last year. She also struck a partnership with Hims&Hers skincare last year, according to Forbes.
And, in 2021, the singer also partnered with the NFL to do a TikTok Tailgate experience. And everyone knows those NFL deals are lucrative AF.
She's pretty philanthropic.
Miley is known for spreading her wealth and awareness for social causes she cares about. In 2014, she started the Happy Hippie Foundation, which focuses on supporting youth experiencing homelessness, the LGBTQ community, and other vulnerable populations.
In 2018, she and her now ex-husband Liam Hemsworth donated $500,000 to the Woosley wildfire relief efforts after their own Malibu home burned down, per E! News.
She told Forbes that starting the Happy Hippie Foundation and having it still be around today is "one of the proudest moments" in her career. She's also supported 44 other charity organizations, according to Look To The Stars.
How much is Miley Cyrus' total net worth?
This queen is worth $160 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Which means she's pulling in the most of anyone else in the Cyrus family, including her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, and her sister, Noah.
TBH, Miley could probably buy herself a boatload of flowers if she wanted. I can't wait to listen to her new single!
