'Minnie Mouse wouldn't even wear this s***': Skaters' matching outfits get horrible reviews
If Leslie Jones ever gets bored with the Saturday Night Live racket, she’d make one heck of a fashion editor or a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Her style critiques may be scathing, but they’re too entertaining not to be shared with the world.
The comedian has been earning rave reviews for her side-splitting Winter Olympics commentary. Two figure skaters may be feeling the sting from her sartorial comments, though. It seems that Jones wasn’t impressed with the yellow and black polka-dot outfits worn by Russia’s Olympic athletes Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov for their pairs free skate routine.
Jones took to Twitter to share a few choice expletives about the “awful” ensembles.
“What is this Minnie Mouse f***ery?” she shouted at her TV. “His tie looks like a gag tie,” her rant continued. “They better be doing jokes in this routine. This routine better have comedy in it. … I’m so angry and distracted because it’s awful. I hate it. … Minnie Mouse wouldn’t even wear this s***. Well, Minnie Mouse might wear it. That’s even worse. That’s an even worse insult.”
Alas, clownish costumes were the least of Tarasova and Morozov’s worries; multiple errors in their routine resulted in a no medal, fourth-place finish. If it’s any consolation, at least Jones didn’t compare them to vampires — as she did the eventual winner, Germany’s Aliona Savchenko.
At least figure skating commentator Johnny Weir (finally) got some love.
She’s a harsh mistress — but she’s hilarious, too.
