Mint Chocolate Twinkies are here — just in time for the holiday season
It’s that time of year again — Hallmark Channel is dedicating its entire lineup to holiday programming, Christmas trees are starting to pop up in shopping centers and mint-flavored snacks are officially hitting store shelves.
It may still feel like Pumpkin Spice Lattes season, but it’s clear that the holidays are around the corner just from a quick glance down the grocery store aisle.
Peppermint Bark Oreos, Kit Kat Duos Mint + Dark Chocolate bars and Mint Oreo McFlurries were just the beginning of the seasonal food trend. Now, Hostess is getting in on the fun by officially unveiling its newest creation, Mint Chocolate Twinkies.
The latest addition to the Twinkies family was already spotted by the Instagram account @junkpickers at a local Walmart. The “liminted edition” snack comes with 10 individually-wrapped chocolate sponge cakes, complete with a mint cream filling.
This isn’t Hostess’s first foray into seasonal food trends. The brand recently brought back Pumpkin Spice Twinkies for the fourth year in a row, and Orange Crème Pop Twinkies were introduced just in time for summer 2019.
The holiday treat is on shelves now at grocery stores nationwide. The special edition flavor will be available until December 26, or as long as supplies last.
