Miranda Lambert Says One Dish Helped Her Get 'the Ring' Twice
Miranda Lambert says there's a little bit of magic in an old family recipe.
The "Mama's Broken Heart" crooner's own mother's "famous meatloaf" is known as "marriage-worthy meatloaf," and she's got the stories to prove it!
The singer sat down with Southern Living’s editor-in-chief, Sid Evans, on the podcast Biscuits and Jam, to talk about her new cookbook, Y'all Eat Yet?, where she documents beloved recipes and stories from the people she learned to cook from.
Of mom Beverly's meatloaf, she recounted, "She always says, 'It's the loaf that'll getcha the ring,' and I mean, it worked for me twice, so there's that."
It worked first on Blake Shelton, whom Lambert was married to from 2011 to 2015, and then on current husband Brendan McLoughlin in 2019.
"Everybody that knows our friend group, knows these ladies, knows if you're getting serious with someone, you either bring 'em to Bev Lambert's house to have the loaf, or you make it for them yourself," she joked.
"I think there's, like, ten cases where people either brought 'em to Mom's and then got engaged or made the meatloaf and then got engaged. I don't know, it's just like a little spell," she continued. "There's something in there."
It seems too good to be true that a simple meatloaf could contain a love potion, but the proof is apparently in the pudding! Lambert and McLoughlin celebrated their fourth anniversary earlier this year, and there's a reason a source told Us Weekly that she's "finally found her soulmate."
