Missoni Resort 2022
For his first collection as creative director of Missoni, Alberto Caliri, who took the creative reins following the recently announced exit of Angela Missoni, developed an interesting concept: urban pleasure wear. “The idea was to create a realistic wardrobe of pieces that make you feel good, bringing pleasure to your life at both an aesthetic and sensorial level,” Caliri explained.
Continuing a path kicked off a couple of seasons ago, the designer, who was already head of the design team under Angela Missoni’s creative direction, developed a collection focused on easy-to-approach daywear infused with a high-end creative quotient. Everyday essentials were revisited through Missoni’s signature filter, one rooted in color and texture experimentation.

The versatile lineup included cool outerwear pieces, spanning from roomy trenches in jersey to playful quilted ponchos and denim bomber jackets with graphic zigzag embroideries.
An array of shirts, cut in narrow silhouettes, were matched with fluid pants, while sweatshirts were elevated through knitted inserts and inside-out prints.
The overall sense of relaxed comfort, further highlighted by the serene and joyful color palette, including pastels juxtaposed with vibrant shades of turquoise and lime green, also influenced the evening pieces. The latter reflected textures and materials echoing the sparkling glamour of disco culture and were done up in uncomplicated silhouettes: charming minidresses, maxidresses and separates enriched with sequins, graphic patterns and iridescent jacquard motifs.
Offering a balanced mix of immediate approachability and high-end desirability, the collection offered a contemporary interpretation of the Missoni’s iconic lifestyle: effortless, chic and light-heartened.
