Moms use broken coffee mug as weapon in bus stop brawl that sends both to the hospital
An argument between two Florida moms got out of hand last week, ending with both women in the hospital after the fight at a school bus stop turned physical. One of the moms, Tiffani Cruz, told ABC Action News that she smashed a coffee mug over the other woman’s head because she was “attacked.”
“It was self-defense over an incident that made no sense,” Cruz said, adding that the brawl should have never happened. “We’re adults.”
Charges are pending for the two moms, as they both reportedly used the broken coffee mug as a weapon. The second woman, who hasn’t been identified, was airlifted to the hospital with a serious cut to her throat, according to ABC Action News. Yahoo Lifestyle has reached out to the North Port Police Department for further comment.

Cruz said she previously called out the other mom for yelling at a child at the bus stop. Last week’s fight was much more violent, though it’s unclear what sparked it. Cruz told ABC Action News that she was only acting in self defense because the other woman hit her first.
“She got this close to my face, nudged me with her nose, and when she nudged me with her nose — it was her fist going up so my fist was going up,” she explained.
People who heard about the fight online were amazed that it took place between two moms.
“Florida Man has a sidekick! Her name is Florida Mom!” one Twitter user wrote. “That’s my moms town and it’s usually quiet, just wow!” another wrote.
Sarasota County Schools has reportedly made counselors available to students, as many kids witnessed the bloody fight.
