Jul. 29—Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. — BMPL Summer Concert Series: Dane Clark Band- Get ready to groove under the summer sky with our upcoming Rock Concert! Join us for an unforgettable rocking good time. Dane Clark is an Indiana native who has been honing his instrumental (drums, bass, guitar and keyboards) and songwriting skills from an early age. FREE to the public. Bring your lawn chairs and a good time! This is held around the pergola in front of the library. Registration is not required.

Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. — Summer Concert Series — Dane Clark Band — Live Music — Dane Clark is an Indiana native who has been honing his instrumental (drums, bass, guitar and keyboards) and songwriting skills from an early age. His early influences of British Invasion rock and Dylan era folk music still resonate in his musical vision. Clark began making a name for himself as a session drummer in the Indianapolis area in the early 1980's. As well as 26 years with John Mellencamp, Dane has recorded with John Prine, Steve Earle, Ian Hunter, Janis Ian, Carrie Newcomer, The Bob And Tom Band and a multitude of others. Dane has released 7 critically acclaimed singer/songwriter projects of his own including 2019's Americana tour-de-force "Rebel Town" (featuring Carlene Carter) in October of 2019. For 20 years he has led his own "full blast rock combo",The Dane Clark Band, playing in countless regional and local venues as well as opening for artists such as Allman Betts Band, Gin Blossoms, John Waite, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and 38 Special. Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. — 1:30 p.m. — Ripley County Reads Author Fair — The Author Fair is an opportunity for the public to meet with 25+ regional authors, ask questions about their books and the writing process, and purchase their books. This year author Shannon Anderson will be doing an Author Talk during the fair at 11AM. Following the fair at 1:30p.m. Shannon will present a Writer's Critique Workshop. For more information about Shannon Anderson visit her website at www.shannonisteaching.com. The first 50 people to arrive will receive a Swag Bag. Everyone who attends will be entered into the door prize drawings.

Aug. 17 at 10:15 a.m. — Saturday Storytime: Shannon Anderson Author Visit — Join us for a special Saturday Storytime! We will have children's author Shannon Anderson here reading her book "I Love Strawberries" and the kids will make a strawberry craft! This program is for children ages 3 to 6. Registration is not required.

Aug. 19 at 10 or 11 a.m. — Mother Goose Toddler Time for ages 0-3. Miss Sarah will host a 30 minute session designed to stimulate the learning process of babies and toddlers. Registration is not required.

Aug. 20 at 10 a.m., 2 or 6 p.m. — There's no time like Storytime! Join us every Tuesday for a fun filled 45 minute session that incorporates books, songs, & activities to build early literacy skills. This program is for children ages 3 to 6. Registration is not required.

Aug. 20 at 1 p.m. — Craft & Chat. Do you have a project that you need a little motivation to finish? Do you get lonely working on your projects at home? Just want a little company? Join your fellow crafters at the Library for an afternoon of crafting and chatting. Bring your craft project(s) from home and join us for a crafty social hour! Registration is not required.

Aug. 20 at 1:30 p.m. — A Novel Idea Book Club (Adult) — A Novel Idea is BMPL's book club. Join us each month to explore and discuss the month's book. Retired English teacher Steve Holland is our book guide. A Novel Idea Book Club meets in the library on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. Newcomers are always welcome to this lively book group! The August book is Whistling Past the Graveyard by Indiana author Susan Crandall. From an award-winning author comes a wise and tender coming-of-age story about a nine-year-old girl who runs away from her Mississippi home in 1963, befriends a lonely woman suffering loss and abuse, and embarks on a life-changing road trip. Find a copy of the book near the front desk. Registration is not required.

Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. — Understanding Senior Care Options: Aging Care Series — Home Care, Assisted Living, Nursing Home Care. You have heard of them all, but do you know the difference? How do you access these various forms of senior care? How are they paid for? Join us to learn more about the difference between these various forms of care and to have your questions answered regarding how care is paid for and how to access the care you or your loved one may need. Registration is not required.

Aug. 21 at 1 p.m. — Play Time BMPL Homeschool Program — Participants will learn the difference between 2 big words, Potential and Kinetic Energy. We will play charades, marbles, dominoes and musical chairs and create our own marble roller coaster to take home. Program for Pre-K — 2nd grade. Registration is required.

Aug. 22 at 4 p.m. — Thursday Craft Day: Sunflowers — Join us to make sunflowers! This program is for grades 1st to 6th and registration is required.

Aug. 26 at 6:30 p.m. — Homemade Pop Rocks — Teens and Tweens, join us for a fun cooking activity to make your own pop rocks! This program is for children ages 12-18 and registration is required.
