These Are the Most Instagrammed Ski Mountains in Europe
If you didn’t Instagram your winter ski vacation did it really happen? Answer: Of course it did, but isn’t it more fun to share your adventures anyway?
If you’re looking to rake in the likes this winter while hitting the slopes it’s key to strategically snap those pictures. Luckily, the skiwear brand Good Trip Clothing did all the hard work of figuring out where to go for you.
The company analyzed hashtag data of nearly 20 million (okay, 19,385,307) Instagram posts from 225 ski resorts across the European continent and found the most Instagrammed ski resort in Europe is none other than Chamonix. According to the brand, the resort has more than 1 million photos posted to the social media platform.
Coming in at a close second is the Swiss resort of Zermatt with just under 750,000 photos (747,373).
In Third is Livigno, located in Italy, with 474,233 posts.
“It’s really interesting to see which ski resorts are the most popular according to Instagram, and we were surprised to see that Chamonix came out on top,” Danny Sullivan, founder of Good Trip Clothing, shared with Travel + Leisure in a statement. “Although it will come as no shock to many that so many French and Swiss resorts are dominating the top 10, it’s great to see people exploring alternative resorts like Livigno, which can often prove to be a cheaper alternative.”
