BROCKTON — We're deep into summer and the best way to end a heat-sweltering day is to enjoy a fresh scoop of ice cream with mouthwatering toppings.

Brockton residents, we know you guys love a good scoop, and we need your vote to help decide which place has the best ice cream in the area.

National Unique Ice Cream Day has already passed on July 1, but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate and rejoice in the delicious flavors the Brockton area and beyond offers.

No matter what kind of ice cream you're into, from soft serve to hard scoops and even ice cream nachos with waffle chips, there's a little bit of something for everyone.

We hand-picked ice cream parlors with unique creations to vote for in several areas, including Stoughton, Easton, West Bridgewater and Raynham.

Some of the ice cream shops have out-of-this-world flavors, including crème brulee, "crème de mintt," egg nog and rum, Skittles, watermelon chip, pomegranate, pumpkin, mountain dew, key lime pie, apple crisp and "bad birthday."

Imagine tasting hard scoop flavors of Nantucket Blueberry, Cotton Candy, Purple Cow, Grapenut, and Apple Pie.Another item worth trying is the chocolate-dipped frozen bananas and the liquor-infused ice cream.

These are just a few flavors of what Brockton has to store.
