During the holiday season, we all want to get cozy with our families or special person and watch our favorite Christmas movie.

In a recent study, HubScore determine each state's favorite holiday movie and based on their research, "It's a Wonderful Life" is Louisiana's favorite Christmas movie.

These are the top five Christmas movies for Louisiana from most popular to least.

It's a Wonderful Life

Widely considered to be one of the greatest films of all time and among the best Christmas films, this movie is about George Bailey, a man who has given up his personal dreams in order to help others in the community and whose thoughts of suicide on Christmas Eve brings his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody, to intervene. The angel shows George all of the lives he's touched and what life would be like if he did not exist.

Violent Night

The Christmas action comedy follows Santa Claus as he fights mercenaries who have taken a wealthy family hostage in their home in Greenwich, Connecticut.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Tim Burton's animated musical dark fantasy film tells the story of Jack Skellington, the King of "Halloween Town," who stumbles upon "Christmas Town" and schemes to take over the holiday.

Elf

Hailed by many as a modern classic, the 2003 Christmas comedy follows Buddy, a human elf raised by Santa's elves in the North Pole, who learns about this origins and travels to New York City to meet his biological father.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York City

Sequel to the 1990 film and the second installment in the franchise, the film follows Kevin McCallister as he is separated from his family on their holiday vacation to Florida, this time in New York where he encounters the Wet Bandits following their escape from prison.
