Naomi Osaka is head-over-heels for her new puppy: ‘I'm a mother, no drama'
Naomi Osaka has a new love in her life.
On Friday, the 23-year-old tennis star shared several photos and videos debuting her new beige French Bulldog. In several of the images, Osaka, who is now sporting box braids, was beaming alongside her adorable little pup, who seems to have a personality all his own. In one of the videos, he looks curiously at Osaka as she walks on a treadmill.
"I’m a mother, no drama," she captioned the post, nodding to a popular TikTok sound trend.
Celebrity friends and fans were completely taken with the new addition to the Osaka family, whose name has yet to be revealed.
Naomi Campbell shared several heart emojis, while fellow tennis star Sloane Stephens wrote, "Congrats on your new bundle of joy." One fan wrote, "Sending you patience for the potty training," while another noted, "This is exactly what you needed he so cute."
One fan beamed, "SO DARN CUTE!!!"
Osaka has mainly stayed off of social media since withdrawing from Wimbledon and the French Open to prioritize her mental, and emotional health. She inspired widespread support from fellow athletes, celebrities and fans alike for her courage to put her wellbeing first. In an April 2019 interview with Vogue, Osaka talked about the importance of self-care and explained that after tough matches, she likes to take a relaxing Japanese bath to restore balance, but explained that what really helps is being around those she cares about.
"I look after my mental health by surrounding myself with a lot of people that I love,” she said. “Positive energy is one of the most important things in the world.” Seems like her new little Frenchie fills the bill.
