Naomie Harris Showed Off Her Legs and Broke All the Oscars Fashion Rules
Those sick of ubiquitous mermaid gowns, look no further than Naomie Harris.
Hollywood stars usually break out glamorous floor-length gowns for awards ceremonies, and the 89th Annual Academy Awards has been no exception. Stunning bejeweled frocks and head-turning chiffon creations have been spotted on the red carpet thus far. However, sometimes big-name celebs choose to go against the grain and wear different styles — like English actress Naomie Harris.
The Moonlight actress wore a white Calvin Klein By Appointment look, which was designed by the label’s new chief creative officer, Raf Simons.
She added a dash of color to her shimmering strapless dress, which featured a long train, with yellow suede sandals with jewel detailing from the brand’s fall 2017 collection.
Simons not only designed Harris’s look, but he also dressed her three Moonlight co-stars, Trevante Rhodes, Ashton Sanders and Alex R. Hibbert. “I was honored to be able to work with the cast of Moonlight and to celebrate the incredible talent of each of these actors and the amazing body of work that the film represents,” Simons said in a statement.
Harris posted many behind-the-scenes snaps on her Instagram account getting ready before the big show, mentioning her hairstylist, Peter Lux, and celebrity makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic in the captions.

“Food and laughter with my hair and makeup peeps @peterluxhair@makeupbymario before hitting the red carpet!” she added to the photo.
In a video Harris uploaded, the team appeared to be incredibly busy prepping the star — and in good spirits — before the ceremony.

Harris is one of the few faces in the 2017 Oscars mix shaking things up on the carpet.
She came to win, that’s for sure.
