Nate Berkus's Tips on Lighting Will Literally Help Light up Your Space
A scroll through interior designer Nate Berkus's Instagram feed and you're likely to come across dozens of cheerfully candid photos and plenty of moments captured with his family. Occasionally though, Berkus does share interior design advice with his curious followers. Most recently, the Nate and Jeremiah: Save My House host offered valuable insight on a design component that can at times be tricky: lighting.
"Let’s talk about lighting! Full disclosure: I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to sourcing the perfect lamp or the perfect lantern or the perfect sconce. With a little bit of effort and patience, you can find a vintage piece or a beautiful fixture online that will really elevate the space," Berkus wrote.
Berkus went on to share a handful of his go-to spots to source lighting. Among the companies mentioned were Etsy, eBay, 1stDibs and Chairish. He also stressed the importance of finding pieces you truly like as opposed to splurging on pricier pieces.
"It’s not about splurging, it’s about taking your time to find that piece that you’re going to love living with, and looking at, every day," the interior designer explained.
