National Pool Opening Day is Saturday, April 27.
With El Paso's year-round sunny weather, homeowners should start getting their pools in shape for a busy, fun summer.
Pool owners can check the pool for its acidity and alkalinity levels and clear out any debris.
In El Paso, many swimming pools and water parks are planning their opening days for May. Wet N' Wild Waterworld and the city's water parks are gearing up for a busy season.
Here are the pools and their opening days.
El Paso Water Parks to open in May
The city of El Paso will open its fourth season this summer with several new features and services for 2024.
This season, El Paso Water Parks will be transitioning to a cashless system across all parks. Visitors will be able to use major credit/debit cards and tap-to-pay methods.
Additionally, El Paso Water Parks will introduce public swim lessons throughout the season, allowing individuals to learn and improve their swimming skills. The swimming lessons will cost $45 per person and include eight, 30-minute classes, with four sessions to choose from. Registration for lessons opens on May 20. May 4 – Chapoteo Water Park, 1225 Giles Road, will open with a Cinco de Mayo Party
May 11 – Lost Kingdom Water Park, 6001 Hughey Drive B, will open with a Luau Party
May 18 – Camp Cohen Water Park, 9700 Gateway N. Blvd., will open with a Wild West Party
May 25 – Oasis Water Park, 13501 Jason Crandall Drive, will open with a Summer Splash Party
Wet N' Wild Waterworld to open May 4
Wet N' Wild Waterworld, 8804 S. Desert Blvd., in Anthony, N.M. will officially open for summer on May 4. Opening weekend hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 2024 Super passes are now available and range from $69.99 to $99.99. Information: wetnwildwaterworld.com
Ascarate Park Pool to open Memorial Day
The Ascarate Park Pool, at 6900 Delta Drive, will be opening on Memorial Day, May 27.
The aquatic center is a great place for families to swim. It's a 50-meter Olympic-sized outdoor competition pool. It also contains a small pool for children, a large slide, as well as two children’s slides. The aquatic center has an enclosed picnic area with BBQ grills, which are shaded by tents, as well as two regulation-sized volleyball courts, one sand and one grass.

Elmont Resort opens swim season
The Elmont Resort at the Montecillo, 240 W. Castellano Drive, opened the Swim Club season in April. 20.
The waterpark has a lazy river, pool, and water slides, as well as a restaurant. There are also cabanas that can be rented. Admission is $20 for the general public. For more information: www.theelmont.com
