Salads, carrot and celery sticks, chicken wings, burgers, french fries, baked potatoes, hush puppies and more are made a little better with a dollop of ranch dressing.
And, there's no better day to enjoy ranch dressing than National Ranch Day.
When is National Ranch Day?
National Ranch Day is Sunday, March 10. But really, isn't every day National Ranch Day?
What is the history of Ranch and National Ranch Day?
According to nationaltoday.com, legend has it that plumber-turned-cowboy Steve Henson created the dressing in his dude ranch – Hidden Valley Ranch – in 1954. Sparks allegedly made the dressing and would hand out packets of spices that would be mixed with buttermilk and mayonnaise to guests.
The dressing was soon mass-produced and in the 1990s overtook Italian as the best-selling dressing. Ranch started to permeate society with it in everything from potato chips and Doritos, to sandwiches and side dishes.
National Ranch Day was established in 2018.
