Nature's candy: Wichita Falls Farmers Market celebrates Watermelon Festival
Watermelons came in by the truck-load as the Wichita Falls Farmers Market at 807 Austin Street held its Watermelon Festival on Saturday.
Fresh farm-picked watermelons were available from Jetton Farms, Phipps Family Farm and more — as customers lined up to buy nature's candy.
The Wichita Falls Farmers Market Association partnered with the Wichita Falls FFA and Wichita Falls FFA Booster Club to provide free watermelon slices from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Any leftover rinds could be tossed at the homemade rind toss target for fun.
Over 13 vendors offered watermelon-flavored treats, sweets and even bath and body products.
The Rush Springs Watermelon Queen was on location to take pictures, and for shoppers with full hands, Bicycle ER was nearby to valet them to their vehicles.
