  • NCIS: New Orleans is adding a new cast member to the team.

  • Actor Charles Michael Davis will reportedly play Special Agent Quentin Carter following Lucas Black's exit earlier this season.

It’s been months since Lasalle’s death on NCIS: New Orleans, but fans are still recovering from the news.

Actor Lucas Black was a beloved star of the CBS series, and it came as a massive surprise when he exited out of the blue. We got a little closure when Pride (Scott Bakula) got his revenge in a maybe-not-so-legal manner. But still—no one can fill Lasalle’s shoes.

Which is why we were doubly shocked when we heard that a new team member, played by Charles Michael Davis, may be joining NCIS: New Orleans. We’re not sure if we should call him Lasalle’s replacement, exactly, but he is theoretically filling the hole Lasalle left, so do with that what you will.

To get some clarity on this whole situation, we opened a little investigation of our own. This is what we know so far about the latest cast member on NCIS: New Orleans.

You’ve definitely seen Charles before.

He’s been on Younger, Chicago P.D., The Originals, For the People, and more. The 35-year-old is obviously very popular in the TV world, so that has to mean good things for NOLA.

Okay, but what’s he doing on “NCIS: NOLA"?

Not much is known about his role yet, but his IMDB page lists him as Special Agent Quentin Carter. The site only has him slated for one episode—the winter premiere, which we have to wait until February to see—but a writer at TVGuide described him as a more permanent fixture in a tweet.

“[Get] the first info about the new team member Quentin Carter played by Charles Michael Davis,” she wrote. Scott also shared a photo of the cover of the magazine which clearly states, “Meet the new team member.”

Doesn’t seem like a one-time thing to us!

So…is he Lasalle’s replacement?

It’s hard to say. Since we haven’t confirmed how long he’ll be on the show, we’re not sure we want to say he’s the new Lasalle just yet. Plus, can anyone really replace him?
