Nelly Teases Return Of Apple Bottom Jeans: “Don’t Call It A Comeback!”

An early 2000s fashion staple is set to return to shelves. Nelly announced the return of Apple Bottom Jeans on social media, sharing an image of the familiar script logo placed on the back pocket of a pair of jeans worn by a model, with her manicured hands perfectly placed.

“Don’t call it a comeback!!!!” exclaimed the St. Louis native. “Wanna see what I’ve been up to… Make sure you sign up for behind the scenes access and our First Big Kick Off!!!!” He had previously teased the resurrection in April sharing a post on Instagram with mock-up designs for new Apple Bottoms apparel.

Currently, the brand’s official website promises, “Cover your a**. Apple Bottoms are back. Launching this fall.” Visitors can sign up for emails and text messages to be notified of the official launch. The site also features a campaign video, featuring women in Apple Bottom’s designs walking through New York City.

The latest announcement is not the first in recent years to have Apple Bottom fans on the edge of their seats. Back in March 2020, the “Grillz” rapper warned “It’s bout that time…!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t call it a come back..!!!!!” by sharing a red logo on social media.

He also uploaded a throwback image from one of the first Apple Bottom photoshoots, writing, “I still have some out takes of this one I can’t even show YALL I was a wildboy back in these days the photoshoot was fun but the after parties was way better…lets just say I was the fixer back then also.”

Apple Bottoms was founded by Nelly in 2003 with Yomi Martin, Nick Loftis, and Ian Kelly, and first sold only denim. By 2006, it had expanded into a full clothing line including clothing, lingerie, swimwear, shoes, accessories, as well as items for young girls and toddlers.

According to a WWD list published in May 2006, Apple Bottoms was the sixth-most searched for denim in the previous month with a search volume of 43,446. At the time, it only followed True Religion Jeans, Joe’s Jeans, Diesel, Guess, and Levi’s.
