Nessa Diab posts photo of herself using breast pump on set as she returns to work after having a baby with Colin Kaepernick
Nessa Diab is back to work just over one month after announcing that she and longtime boyfriend Colin Kaepernick had their first child together.
The radio and television personality took to her Instagram on Monday to share a photo of herself using a breast pump while getting glam on set. "WOW! Life looks different!" she captioned the photo. "Back on air @HOT97 3-7 and it feels soooooo good! Also, pumping is hard AF!!!!"
The photo isn't the first of Diab as a working mother, as she decided to announce the news of her growing family just before returning to her job as a host for the MTV Video Music Awards on August 28. "I thought long and hard about sharing our life changing news today. I decided to do so because today is the first day in a few weeks where I stepped out for work with a new life title – MOM!" Diab announced on her social media earlier that day.
By the evening, she had been photographed in a black dress on MTV's black carpet.
As of Monday, however, her return to her regular gig is official, and Diab expressed excitement over sharing more about her life as a new mom.
"I’ve experienced so much while I was on maternity leave and I look forward to sharing it with you. It’s taken me a second to fully digest everything and to find different ways to express it," she wrote before listing out the feelings she's experienced since welcoming their child. Naturally, it encompassed mixed emotions.
"So much love; sleep deprived; worried about my milk supply; wondering if I will be able to have a spontaneous life again," the list began, before Diab added, "happiness" and "joy." The new mom also shared that "our baby is Colin’s TWWWWWIIINNN," noting the resemblance between her boyfriend and their child.
Diab also shared the pain that comes with recovering from childbirth, writing, "Recovery is taking longer than expected." However, the journey has been worth it as she's felt "LOVE I never knew existed."
The radio host went on to share her appreciation for the people who have made her transition into motherhood and back to work as easy as possible, including those who have shown her what motherhood is all about. As she returns to the air, her new role will remain a prominent part of her every day.
"I’m humbly asking for all parenting advice! Please let them allllll roll in. I NEED IT!" she wrote.
