Netflix Just Dropped the Trailer for a New Post-Apocalyptic Fairy Tale Based on a DC Comic
It feels like a new show or movie comes out on Netflix every day and it can be hard to keep up. But I guess we'll just have to find more time in our schedules (or sleep less) because a new series is coming to the streaming platform that is sure to have everyone talking.
Netflix's newest TV show titled Sweet Tooth has been deemed a "post-apocalyptic fairy tale" and it is based on a DC comic series of the same name by Canadian artist and writer Jeff Lemire. The story follows Gus, a 9-year-old boy with antlers living in a world where a strange natural disaster has created animal/human hybrids.
Check out the teaser trailer below.
In Netflix's official synopsis, they write: "Ten years ago 'The Great Crumble' wreaked havoc on the world and led to the mysterious emergence of hybrids — babies born part human, part animal. Unsure if hybrids are the cause or result of the virus, many humans fear and hunt them. After a decade of living safely in his secluded forest home, a sheltered hybrid deer-boy named Gus (Christian Convery) unexpectedly befriends a wandering loner named Jepperd (Nonso Anozie). Together they set out on an extraordinary adventure across what’s left of America in search of answers."
Alongside Convery and Anozie, the series stars Adeel Akhtar ( Enola Holmes ), Will Forte ( Saturday Night Live ), Dania Ramirez ( Heroes ), Neil Sandilands ( The 100 ), Stefania LaVie Owen ( The Carrie Diaries ) and Aliza Vellani (Marvel Super Hero Adventures).
Sweet Tooth is set to premiere on June 4 on Netflix.
