Monday will be night four of the Battles on season 24 of The Voice when the remaining artists continue to compete for the chance to make it to the Knockouts if they can just get their coach—John Legend, Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire, or Niall Horan—to pick them as the winner to move on in the competition.

Parade has a sneak peek at the fierce Battle that impresses the coaches with its harmonies, runs, and control when four-chair turn Kaylee Shimizu battles two-chair turn Elizabeth Evans on Olivia Rodrigo’s “traitor.”

Reba was the first coach to compliment the two artists, saying, “Elizabeth and Kaylee that was fantastic. Unbelievable vocal range and power. Elizabeth, when you opened your mouth and hit that big note, I was just in awe. And Kaylee, your range is incredible. Y’all just complimented each other. Love the harmonies. For this performance, I would pick Elizabeth.”

Niall agreed with Reba, telling Elizabeth and Kaylee, “That’s the best version of that song I’ve heard, 100 percent. Kaylee, at 17, that’s a ridiculous talent to have. The control you have over your runs and the range you’ve got is just phenomenal. And we’ve seen again why that was a four-chair turn in the first place. Elizabeth, that was a different beast. Your identity as an artist is something we don’t have a lot of and you stand out in this competition for me. Personally, I would lean toward Elizabeth myself.”

Gwen wasn’t as sure as her fellow coaches, but it could also be because she always has a soft spot for the younger singers.

She said, “Elizabeth, it’s hard because you’re battling against Kaylee who has one of the most incredible voices I’ve ever heard. The control she has and the little tricks she can do, it’s masterful, but that shouldn’t at all discount your lane because there’s not a lot of girls that have power and that thing you have on stage. You’re very original and rare, so I don’t know how you choose. Both just so gifted.”

But, of course, in the end John’s opinion is the only one that matters.

He told them, “It was stunning, both of you were so interesting and cool. Elizabeth, you’ll do interesting note choices that I would never have thought of. You’re able to be a little quirky but also just flat out sing, too. And it’s very exciting and interesting to watch. And then Kaylee, as a vocalist, there’s very few people on the planet who can sing with the level of ability and the level of gift that you have. You’re just so polished at such a young age, it’s actually stunning to watch. Both of you are ridiculous. I can’t believe I have to make this decision.”
