Nicole Kidman Wore This $9 Nude Lipstick to the Golden Globes
Marking the official start to each year’s award season, all eyes are glued to the Golden Globe Awards’ red carpet come January for the best fashion, glam and talent. Because this year’s event was nontraditionally dominated by black gowns and tuxedos in solidarity with the “Time’s Up” movement calling for an end to sexual harassment and gender inequality, many celebrities turned to their makeup or hair for a pop of color or a statement. Some, however, opted for a classic look, using neutral and soft shades. One of our favorite examples: Nicole Kidman.

As the Golden Globe went to Kidman for the "Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie" category for playing Celeste Wright, a victim of domestic violence, on HBO’s Big Little Lies, viewers couldn’t help but notice her flawless makeup during her acceptance speech—most notably, her chic-yet-glossy nude lipstick—but it’s not thanks to the work of a pricey makeup routine. In fact, it’s from the drugstore.
Kidman looked to Neutrogena's new Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine ($9) in Pink Mocha, which her makeup artist, Angela Levin, says she was immediately drawn to. “It’s very similar to a natural lip color, but worthy for a Golden Globe night.” The dusty rose hue paired perfectly with her flushed cheeks, but is also available in 11 other shades, ranging from a bright poppy to a true nude. And at less than $10 a tube, it finally won't hurt your wallet to take a few hues for a test drive.
