Actress Niecy Nash and her wife, rock and soul musician and singer Jessica Betts, are so in love.

The Masked Singer guest host (who is temporarily filling in for Nick Cannon) is currently enjoying the newlywed life after tying the knot with Jessica in August of 2020.

Their story goes back to when they first crossed paths on social media in 2015, according to People. When speaking to the outlet in September, Niecy revealed that she was still "happily married" to her second ex-husband, Jay Tucker (before Jay, Niecy was married to Don Nash from 1994 to 2007 and together they have three kids — Dominic, Dia, and Donielle), when she first met Jessica.

“[Jessica] and I were friends, but I never saw her as someone I would date," she said.

As noted by Essence, the two further connected in 2018 when Jessica landed a role in an episode of Claws (which Niecy stars in), and played Nadege. Jessica shared the below Instagram of the two hanging out and having fun together back in June of 2018.

At the time the above video was posted, Niecy was still married to Jay (despite announcing their split in October of 2019). The two eventually got divorced in March of 2020. On August 29th of the same year, Niecy and Jessica walked down the aisle at their home in Ventura County, California.

Looking back on their journey, Niecy told People that things really changed after she and Jay mutually decided to end their marriage.

"I loved her before I was in love with her because she is such a special human being,” Niecy told the magazine about her wife. "But we began to see each other in a way we never had before. Sometimes you get so broken by love, you run from it. But I’ve learned that you should always hold space for magic because it can happen at any time."

Niecy also relayed to the magazine that her decision to marry Jessica had "absolutely nothing to do with gender" and "everything to do with her soul."

"I was not suppressing my sexuality my whole life," Niecy said. "I love who I love. At one point in my life, I married twice and I love those people. And today I love this person. I've done everything I wanted to do on my own terms and my own way."

Niecy added, "So my choice now in a partner has nothing to do with who I've always been. It's a matter of who I am in this moment."

Both Niecy and Jessica are all about supporting each other's careers. While Niecy has recently been busy guest-hosting The Masked Singer and acting in the upcoming drama Beauty and comedy The Perfect Find, Jessica continues to create new music, inspired by artists such as Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, Whitney Houston, Lauryn Hill, Kim Burrell, Tracy Chapman and others.

When Niecy came onto The Masked Singer, Entertainment Tonight's Nischelle Turner revealed that producers surprised her with a video message from Jessica.
