Following its fiscal 2024 fourth quarter earnings report on June 27, Nike Inc. has consistently been in the headlines. Shares of the company saw an immediate drop and executives have been shuffled around — most recently, it even rehired a retired VP. Another layer includes some changes to its sneaker business, most notably a reduction in units for its three largest lifestyle franchises: the Air Force 1, Air Jordan 1 and Dunk, per CEO John Donahoe. While that strategy is in its early stages, there are still chances to pick up the popular sneakers, including a new version of one of the top-selling Dunk styles.
The Nike Dunk Low “Panda” originally released in March 2021 and quickly became a street style staple thanks to its easy-to-wear color combination. Its first launch came at the height of the Dunk resurgence when the model was still relatively tough to obtain at retail. However, unlike many popular Dunks, Nike essentially kept the “Panda” pair in perpetual production, continually restocking the sneaker and releasing new twists on the black-and-white colorway.
$125
To some, this caused their interest in the sneaker to wane but for others, it meant the style was finally attainable without paying a premium for the resale price.
After launching the original “Panda” Dunk Low, Nike followed up with the “Panda” Dunk High in January 2022. Throughout ’22, the “Panda” Dunk Low was restocked numerous times.
Those who have been waiting to pick up the “Panda” Dunk are in luck, as Nike’s just released a new premium version of the sneaker. The latest Nike Dunk Low Retro “Panda” comes dressed in a white tumbled leather base with black suede overlays and retails for $125. It’s available now from nike.com and select Nike Sportswear retailers.
