Nike and Patta Mash Up the Huarache Plus and Pegasus Sneakers for Their Running Team Collection
Nike and longtime collaborator Patta have announced a new “Running Team” collection with styles fit for the track and repping the sport away from it.
Headlining the assortment is a hybridized version of Nike’s iconic Air Huarache. Under the stead of the Amsterdam streetwear brand, the Huarache Plus’ upper now sits atop the sole unit from the Pegasus 40. Premium leather has been added for the upper’s overlay, and the tongue now reads, “Patta Air.”

The Air Huarache Plus will be available in three colorways: black and grey; yellow, blue and grey; and white, grey and pink — the latter of which will be exclusive to Patta. Each pair will also come with a custom towel.
While the sneaker bridges the line between life lifestyle and running, out-and-out running apparel includes race suits, tops, shorts and a running vest. Reflective graphics and a Patta Panther logo are a through-line for the collection, which also includes a heavyweight wool and leather varsity jacket.
Starring in the collaboration’s campaign is Nike runner Sifan Hassan, who won gold medals in the 5,000 meter and 10,000 meter races for the Netherlands in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
“Patta Running Team was born from a desire to connect with like-minded individuals around the world through the universal language of running,” Patta co-founder Edson Sabajo said in a press release. “It’s about discovering new places, forging new connections and embracing freedom. Running transcends borders. Because when you run, your mind and spirit are set free to think and dream.”
The Nike x Patta Running Team collection will first release April 26 through Patta’s website and stores before an additonal release May 2 through the SNKRS app and select third-party retailers. Pricing for Air Huarache Plus x Pegasus hybrid sneaker is set at $160.
