The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 was a major hit in 2023, as it brought a surprising level of comfort for a shoe a dozen years old along and satisfied the desire for retro runners that’s become one of the defining trends in sneakers. As the model continues to be a prominent part of the Swoosh’s lineup in 2024, it’ll now join Nike’s annual Valentine’s Day collection.

A white-on-off-white look defines most of the V-Day Vomero 5, which only makes the small hits of dark “Dragon” red stand out that much more. The deep color is used for the outsole and sock liner, as well as the tongue’s 3M-lined nylon strip and its tongue branding. Another appearance then arrives via a custom insole featuring the logo Nike is using across its Valentine’s Day lineup, a Swoosh sitting inside a heart sitting inside a flower for a Turducken-like arrangement. On the heel, you’ll find another tinier version of the same mark.
Archival running shoes will be a major area of focus for Nike in 2024, and several returning models have the potential to take the torch from the Vomero 5. Through an unprecedented preview for the new year, Nike revealed the Air Max SNDR, Pegasus 2K5, and Pegasus Wave will all make a return for the first time since their runs in the late-’90s and aughts. New Balance’s recent resurgence has helped usher in the popularity of sneakers mixing suede, mesh, and other materials for dynamic uppers, and the Vomero 5 has found solid footing within this landscape.
Release details have yet to be confirmed for the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Valentine’s Day,” beside the fact that it’ll be a women’s-exclusive, but expect word to arrive soon, as the holiday is already just around the corner. This post will be updated as new information becomes available.
