Step-by-Step Directions
With just a few supplies, you can create your own fall pumpkin decoration. Customize your decorated pumpkin craft with your favorite yarn and design.
Yarn Pumpkin Craft Idea No. 1:
Hot-glue the end of your yarn to the bottom of a gourd.
Start wrapping until you've completely covered the gourd.
Secure yarn with a dab of hot glue.
Use the sewing needle to stitch Xs around the gourd in contrasting yarn colors.
Yarn Pumpkin Craft Idea No. 2:
Hot-glue the end of your yarn to the center of the gourd.
Wrap the yarn until you've created a color band 1-2 inches wide.
Secure yarn with a dab of hot glue.
Hot-glue the end of a contrasting piece of yarn to the center of the first color (as demoed in the video) or beside the last color (as shown above).
Wrap the yarn until you've created a color band about 1-inch wide.
Repeat as desired.
Secure yarn with a dab of hot glue.
Yarn Pumpkin Craft Idea No. 3:
Create a colorful burlap pumpkin. Measure and cut the burlap to fit around the pumpkin. Fray edges by pulling a few burlap threads. Using a yarn needle, intermittently weave yarn horizontally through the burlap. Repeat with assorted yarns. Secure burlap to the pumpkin using hot glue.
Yarn Pumpkin Craft Idea No. 4:
Secure yarn to the bottom of the pumpkin with hot glue. Wrap in a random web design, using hot glue to secure if needed. Repeat with assorted yarn colors, wrapping randomly atop one another until the web design is created.
Yarn Pumpkin Craft Idea No. 5:
Secure yarn to the bottom of the faux pumpkin stem with hot glue. Tightly wrap yarn up the stem, securing with hot glue when needed. Clip yarn at top and secure. Tie five 8-10-inch strands as one around the base of the stem and knot. Fray edges. Make it even more colorful: Add a yarn-wrapped stem to your painted Halloween pumpkin.
