Yesterday, The Daily Express reported that the Queen and Prince Philip were "very angry" with Meghan Markle's father, Thomas, for staging paparazzi photos and not being able to attend the royal wedding. But that might not be exactly true. Palace sources later denied the news to the Express' royal reporter Richard Palmer.

Royal correspondent Victoria Arbiter also commented on the reports. "I don’t think she’d be remotely 'angry' at Meghan over this whole mess," she tweeted. "Rather she’d feel desperately sorry for her as we all should."

Though the royal family hasn't directly responded to the latest news that Meghan's dad will miss the May 19 ceremony, a Kensington Palace spokesperson addressed reports earlier this week with the following statement:

"This is a deeply personal moment for Ms. Markle in the days before her wedding. She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr. Markle in this difficult situation."

The bride-to-be hasn't spoken publicly about the situation either, but Thomas Markle told TMZ that his daughter reached out to him on Monday via text, saying she loves him and is concerned for his health.
