Noah Centineo’s New Spy Series Just Dethroned the Reigning ‘Wednesday’ as the #1 Show on Netflix

Noah Centineo stole all of our hearts in the To All the Boys film series, and now, he’s back to play a young, naive 24-year-old lawyer named Owen Hendricks in the new Netflix spy series, The Recruit.

Apparently the show is already a hit, because The Recruit just dethroned the über-popular Wednesday as the number-one title on Netflix's list of most-watched shows (and it only came out two days ago, btw). Check out the trailer below.

In the clip, we see Owen (looking like a young Mark Ruffalo, thanks to that curly black hair and smooth black suit) on his first day at the CIA. He is assigned to stop a possible data leak that may expose the agency. But when a former CIA asset, Max Meladze (Laura Haddock), writes a letter from prison and threatens to expose them, he must do everything he can to keep the information hidden.

As an experienced “professional” and a new recruit, Owen has no idea what he’s doing most of the time. “I’m 24 years old,” he says in the trailer. “I’m supposed to make mistakes.” But, just like the rest of us, he’s figuring it out as he goes—with the help of his charm and a slight hint of sarcasm.

Created by showrunner Alexi Hawley (The Rookie), The Recruit also stars Fivel Stewart (Atypical), Vondie Curtis-Hall (Waist Deep), Kristian Bruun (Carter), Aarti Mann (Never Have I Ever), Colton Dunn (Superstore) and Daniel Quincy Annoh. Centineo also serves as an executive producer for the upcoming series.

We know what we're bingeing this weekend.
