'I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought.'

Noah Schnapp opened up about his sexuality with a nod to his Stranger Things character, Will Byers.

The 18-year-old actor posted a video to his TikTok page revealing that he recently came out as gay to his friends and family, joking, "I guess I’m more similar to will [sic] than I thought," in the caption–a reference to part of the drama that unfolded in Season 4 of the hit Netflix series.

In the video, Schnapp was lying down in a gray hoodie as he lip-synced to the viral audio clip that states, "you know what it never was, that serious. It was never that serious, quite frankly it will never be that serious," while an overlay of text on the screen explains, "When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was 'we know.'"

Many fans took to the comments to show their support for the actor, with one fan writing, "NOAH IM SO PROUD."

"He said method acting ??," one fan quipped.

TikTok star Chris Olsen chimed in writing, "welcome king."

The Empire State Building account quipped, "we love you ??" Hey, Stranger Things have happened, right?

"Can we all appreciate that Noah just came out to the whole world and realize how much courage it takes to do that when you're a literal celebrity," another fan admired.

In an interview with Variety this past summer, Schnapp noted that his character's sexuality would be up to the viewer's interpretation, but in a follow-up interview, he confirmed Will is gay

"I mean, it’s pretty clear this season that Will has feelings for Mike. They’ve been intentionally pulling that out over the past few seasons. Even in Season 1, they hinted at that and slowly, slowly grew that storyline," he said.

He continued: "I think for Season 4, it was just me playing this character who loves his best friend but struggles with knowing if he’ll be accepted or not, and feeling like a mistake and like he doesn’t belong. Will has always felt like that. All his friends, they all have girlfriends and they all fit into their different clubs. Will has never really found anywhere to fit in. I think that’s why so many people come up to me and tell me that they love Will and they resonate with him so much, because it’s such a real character."
