How to Nominate Someone for ‘Queer Eye’
If you’ve ever watched Queer Eye and immediately thought, “[INSERT NAME HERE] would be the perfect victim candidate,” you’re in luck. Fans of the popular Netflix series recently decoded the mysterious casting process, offering a rare opportunity to nominate a friend (or yourself, no judgement) for the chance to win a makeover consultation with the Fab Five: Antoni Porowski (Food & Wine), Jonathan Van Ness (Grooming), Bobby Berk (Interior Design), Karamo Brown (Culture) and Tan France (Fashion).
So, if you’re wondering how to nominate someone for Queer Eye? Keep reading for all the details.

1. How to nominate someone for 'Queer Eye'?
The process is surprisingly simple. According to this casting announcement, Queer Eye nominations can be sent via email to [email protected]. Be sure to include any relevant information, including the nominee’s name (duh), photo(s) and a brief description about why he/she needs to have a serious Van Ness pep talk on national television. Yaaassss, hunni!
Once the email is submitted, nominees can sit back, relax and wait for the Fab Five to (hopefully) show up on their doorstep.
2. Where will the next season of 'Queer Eye' take place?
Here’s the catch: Netflix already revealed that season six of Queer Eye will take place in Austin, Texas. Of course, that doesn’t mean the nominations are strictly limited to Texans. Since the show is expected to return for season seven, the casting process is likely ongoing.
Not to mention, Netflix might be forced to implement a social distancing element due to the coronavirus pandemic. While we don’t know if the streaming service has already cast season six, there’s a good chance we’ll see a virtual element in at least one or more future installments. All it means is Netflix might not factor location into the casting process, so nominate away.
3. Any tips for nominating someone for 'Queer Eye'?
Unfortunately, we don’t have any personal experience with the open casting. However, if there’s anything we learned from the past five seasons of Queer Eye, it’s that Netflix tends to cast individuals who have a story to tell.
So, if you want to increase the chances of your nominee getting selected, we highly recommend you do more than what’s instructed. This can include anything from adding a social media link to filming a video of yourself explaining why you’re nominating that particular person. This doesn’t need to be time-consuming, since there’s no guarantee it’ll even get viewed. Still, it doesn’t hurt to try.
