NORD CEO Larry Barabino Jr. said, “The kids are out here just to have fun, enjoying the rides.” They also held dance competitions between the various camps, which Mayor LaToya Cantrell joined in on.
Thanks to a partnership between NORD and attorney Morris Bart, campers also went home with new backpacks and school supplies.
Barabino said the camps keep nearly 2,000 kids busy each summer, which is welcomed help for parents. “NORD steps in to relieve parents while they’re going to work, and just know that the kids are not home or roaming the streets and in a safe space.”
