Northern Greenville County home offers best of both worlds: Luxury and a view

Northern Greenville County offers mountain views and ample space to garden and roam. If you find just the right spot, you can have all that along with the amenities and luxury of the home of your dreams.

David and Carrie Gerisch are the construction manager and business manager, respectively, of DG Builders. The couple owns the business together and in the case of this home, served as the real estate agents for the homeowner as well as their builder.

Located on ample acreage for outdoor living, the home is close to access to the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail, and it is connected to city water and sewer. But the view reflects life off the beaten path.

Carrie Gerisch says the site required extensive grading and the home is creatively situated to maximize the natural beauty all around. The back of the home features the garage entry, while the front has an enormous porch, windows and dormers to take in the mountain scene.

Inside, the home is timeless and warm, with wood floors throughout, except for tiled bathrooms, a carefully considered fireplace and kitchen cabinets that are bright and classic. Gerisch credits the designers of KB Collaborative for helping the homeowner form a cohesive vision that reflects personal style.

“Open floor plans are obviously a huge hit. Everybody loves them,” Gerisch says. “But you're starting to see more of the defined spaces come back. And the kitchen is really like a nice mix of both of those. It is open, but it's also defined space.”

The mixed metals throughout the home were a favorite of the homeowner, adding a special lived-in feel to the house.

“It gives it the feel that it was built over time,” Gerisch says. “Not just that we went into the store and picked everything and we were done – it looks like somebody really took their time.”

More personal touches emerge throughout, like the large fireplace that was specially constructed to provide scale without heaviness, champagne gold bathroom fixtures, luxury shower details and even the dual vanities in the primary bath that give each user their own space.

Ther are “little pops of style throughout the house, but it doesn't feel like anything's competing with anything,” Gerisch says. “It all just goes. That house is going to be in style in 60 years, because there's nothing that's trendy. It's all just very comfortable and pretty and elegant.”
