The holiday season is here, which means it's time to celebrate with family and friends. There's delicious dinners and decadent desserts to be had, but we can't forget all the holiday cheer that comes from a good Christmas cocktail. Every year for the holidays, I try to make a new cocktail my guests will really enjoy. When I was coming up with this cranberry crush cocktail, I knew it had to be something festive-looking for a holiday party occasion and of course, it has to taste divine too.

Since cranberries are a popular ingredient during the holiday season with everyone's favorite cranberry sauce and cranberry bread to enjoy, I figured why not make a vodka cocktail where the star of the drink is cranberry? I tried this Cranberry Crush Cocktail recipe out with our dear friends who stopped by last Sunday and they loved it. Add this to your own Christmas Eve or Christmas Day dinner menu and watch people's eyes sparkle like lights on the tree! Trust me, this cocktail is that good.

Now this is a cocktail for adults, but it can easily be a special mocktail for the younger crowd. Just don't add any alcohol and replace the liquor with juice such as white grape juice or apple juice. Enjoy and happy holidays!

Cranberry Crush Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1? cups fresh or frozen cranberries

  • ? cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup cold water

  1. In a small saucepan add cranberries, sugar and water.

  2. Stir to combine.

  3. Bring to a boil over medium to high heat.

  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat and mash cranberries with a potato masher

  6. Using a strainer remove all fruit pieces.

  7. Pour into an airtight container, can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.

  8. Fill your glass with ice.

  9. Using a bar shaker add the cranberry syrup, vodka, spiced rum, and orange juice.

  10. Shake to combine.

  11. Top off with soda water.

  12. Garnish with additional cranberries and mint.

  13. Serve immediately.
