Taco Reho turns National Hot Dog Day into their own Hot Dog Month with rotating menu??
When you think about the Delaware chain Taco Reho, California-inspired burritos and tacos wrapped in warm, house-made corn tortillas probably come to mind.
But for all of July ― including National Hot Dog Day on the 17th ― their rock 'n' roll-themed, homegrown restaurants in Rehoboth Beach (18784 Coastal Highway) and Middletown (100 Sandhill Drive) will be spotlighting one of America's favorite summertime bites: hot dogs.
Taco Reho launched a "Dog Daze of Summer" promotion Monday featuring four unique foot-long hot dogs, which will be unleashed all month long.
Some will look familiar. Others will be unlike anything you've tried before. All have a Mexican twist, thanks to Taco Reho chef/owner Billy Lucas, whose business partners include La Vida Hospitality.
To preserve the wow factor, Lucas declined to release photos of the three new weenies.
Each week, a different $9 grilled beef hot dog will be offered. Here they are:
July 1-7: Chili Dog
A foot-long with chili con carne, Monterey jack cheese, yellow mustard and chopped white onion on a Martin's potato roll.
July 8-14: Corn Dog
This ain't your state fair corn dog: a cornmeal-battered hot dog on a stick with a side of yellow mustard and chipotle mayo.
July 15-21: Danger Dog
Ripped straight from Taco Reho's regular menu: a bacon-wrapped hot dog with black beans, Monterey jack cheese, avocado, yellow mustard, chipotle mayo, pico de gallo, pickled red onions, queso fresco and cilantro.
July 22-31: Elote Dog
Mexican street corn gets involved: a hot dog with grilled Freeman's Farm sweet corn, ancho chile aioli, cotija cheese, cilantro and lime on a Martin's potato bun.
'Dachshund Derby' on National Hot Dog Day
And in honor of National Hot Dog Day, Taco Reho will host their “Dachshund Derby” from 5 to 8 p.m. at each location on July 17.
TACOS IN DELAWARE The best birria and carnitas tacos near Philly are in Delaware. Here's where ... and why.
Guests are encouraged to bring their dachshund dogs for fun competitions. If you bring in your dachshund, you'll receive a $25 gift card, and winners of the fattest dog, longest dog and best dressed will receive a trophy.
