When Jenna Fischer asks you to sing or dance in exchange for some ice cream, you do it for two reasons: One, because you want ice cream. And two, because her big green eyes and disarmingly sweet smile are impossible to turn down. At least, that's what some lucky people recently found out when they ran into Fischer in an elevator - complete with psychedelic wallpaper and ice cream sundaes - in New York City's 30 Rock building. She posted up there for a few hours to show of Blue Bunny's eight new Load'd Sundaes.

"The chocolate chips on top are shaped like bunnies, which just points to my love of attention to detail," Fischer gushed when we caught up on the phone after the event. First, we got the hard-hitting ice cream questions out of the way: She prefers vanilla over chocolate, but likes a good cookie crumble on top. She's got more self-restraint than you - meaning she reaches for a bowl rather than eating straight out of the tub. And she's a cup person, though she wouldn't mind an ice cream-topped cone served in a cup. "So you still get to eat the cone but you can also put more stuff on top," Fischer explained.

Then, we covered everything else.

She has a genius trick for picky kids.

"Whenever my kids participate in the food preparation, they are more adventurous with their eating," Fischer says. She tries to include her 3- and 6-year old while making dinner as much as possible, like with pizza night - they get to pick the toppings - or a taco spread - they put what they want inside the shell. Fischer loves to make kabobs with small ones, too, but not the kind you're thinking of. "We make fruit kabobs," she explains, "and they get to chop the soft fruits with a butter knife, then decide what order they go on the stick."

Lunchtime is her daily rough patch.

"I’m great at starting my day with a good breakfast and ending it with a healthy dinner, but the middle of the day just becomes a big bunch of who knows what," Fischer reveals. Occasionally, she'll talk herself into prepping something, like salad topped with last night's chicken leftovers. But more often than not, Fischer says she ends up digging into a box of crackers after her kids' school pick-up or grabbing something from Starbucks with her afternoon coffee.

At breakfast and dinner, Jenna is a creature of habit.

For years, her morning meal has consisted of two scrambled eggs topped with cheese, a side of berries, and a cup of coffee. "I’ve tried oatmeal in the slow cooker, and fancy muffins, and this gluten-free chia seed-almond milk overnight oatmeal that I found on Goop," Fischer says. "They were fine, but nothing keeps me as full as the eggs and fruit." Come nighttime, she and her husband have a cache of good-for-you go-tos they tend to choose from: stuffed peppers, salmon, tacos, and pasta.

This is the weird habit she only does in private.

And by in private she means at home, in front of a select few people including her parents, sister, and husband. "If I really like something, like my ice cream or my salad dressing, I’ll lick my bowl," Fischer admits. "It's horrible manners, but sometimes it's just so good."

Blue Bunny is coming traveling the country! Up next: Los Angeles and Chicago. On May 23 and 24, they're taking over an elevator - sans Jenna Fischer - at the Grove in L.A., and May 29 through June 2, the brand is hosting a pop-up ice cream bar at the Clark/Lake CTA station.
