Old Alker Distillery to open in New Orleans this August

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A new distillery is set to open in New Orleans this August.

According to a news release, Old Alker Distillery is opening a tasting room and manufacturing facility on Oak Street on Aug. 2.

The new distillery will offer a selection of pot-distilled whiskey, vodka, rum, gin and specialty liqueurs.

The release states guests will also be able to purchase bottles of the Old Alker standard whiskey, two whiskies from the “high-end,” six-year barrel-aged whiskey Old Alker Collection, Trumpet brand vodka and gin, light and dark Bienville rums and Lagniappe Liqueurs including chocolate, amaretto and coffee.

“We think we’ve found the perfect location on Oak Street to provide locals a newly renovated, unique experience to see a working distillery and enjoy a craft cocktail using our brands and only the freshest local ingredients,” said Old Alker Distillery Owner Kevin Alker.

Plans for New Orleans’ Trader Joe’s moving forward despite some pushback

Old Alker Distillery is set to open at 8304 Oak St. on Aug. 2 at 3 p.m. with a grand opening event that will include live music, raffles, tasting giveaways and more.
