Olivia Munn shares how her postpartum workout has her feeling 'a bit more like myself'
Olivia Munn has been very open on social media about her postpartum struggles since the birth of son Malcolm Hi?p. But on Wednesday, the Violet actress posted an Instagram Story detailing how working out has helped her feel "a little bit more" like herself.
Munn, who shares 4-month-old Malcolm with comedian John Mulaney, took a lesson in capoeira, a Brazilian martial art practice.
"My hips still feel wonky from pushing out a human being, my postpartum anxiety is still here (and horrible), but I got myself up and took my first capoeira lesson today," Munn, 41, wrote.
The new mom has a black belt in Taekwondo and said practicing another martial art form helped her connect with her pre-baby self.
"Hope I can keep it up," she told fans.
This candid insight into her journey of regaining a sense of normalcy postpartum is not the first time Munn has shared some of the not-so-fun aspect of being a new mom.
The Love Wedding Repeat star has shared on Instagram about her struggles with breastfeeding and feeling like her "body was failing" because she struggled with low milk supply.
She detailed her journey and trials with various supplements and techniques, ultimately saying "f*** it."
"Breastfeeding is good, and so is formula," she said. "To the mamas out there — do whatever you need to feed your baby and don't let anyone make you feel bad about it."
Despite the various and expected ups and downs, mom and baby still look cuddly and happy in Munn's most recent post, with The Newsroom star calling Malcolm her "big biscuit baby."
