Olivia Newton-John Recorded a Duet of 'Jolene' With Dolly Parton Shortly Before She Died

And we were just blessed with the music video.

Olivia Newton-John fans probably didn't expect to see a new single drop from the late Grease actress this week, making it a doubly pleasant surprise when a duet of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" popped up on YouTube, featuring the country superstar herself.

The "Physical" singer was working on an album of duets when she passed away at the age of 73 following a decades-long battle with breast cancer last summer, and she got to fulfill a dream of hers before she died, having revealed that she "always wanted to sing with Dolly" in a clip featured in the song's music video.

Parton also offered a brief statement before the song began, sharing, "I'm so excited to be working with Olivia Newton-John, one of my favorites of all time." She explained that they've always been close throughout the years, adding how proud she is to be a part of her newest project. "We're singing one of my all-time favorites that I've written, 'Jolene,' and she says it's one of her favorites, so why not just do a duet on our favorite?" she wrapped up with a smirk.

The duet offers a new arrangement of the classic hit, and it's safe to say fans are already crazy about.

"Wow even in her weakest days Olivia Newton-John sounded beautiful. The harmony between these two great women was perfect. That you Dolly for this," one YouTube comment read.

"Two of the sweetest, most talented, beautiful souls sharing their magic with us. What a delightful treat. Olivia giving her all while battling cancer. Truly a gift she left for us, her adoring fans. I will always love her and Dolly. Two incredible legends," said another.

Per ABCJust the Two of Us: The Duets Collection is available starting on May 5, 2023. In addition to Parton, the album includes duets with Mariah Carey, John Travolta, her daughter Chloe Lattanzi, and more.
