Olivia Rodrigo and Halsey Are Calling Attention to Fall's It Shoe: Doc Martens

We've got all the details on the latest shoe trend for fall, the Doc Marten.

If you’ve followed footwear fashion this fall, you know there are currently a few “it shoes.” Boston Birkenstocks are sold out, and leather clogs are back. But if you’ve had your eyes on the ground, you’ve seen quite a few commandos. And that’s because there’s one more it shoe commanding attention: Doc Martens.

Doc Martens aren’t anything new. And though they were popular during the ‘90s Grunge Era, they actually hit shelves in 1945, the result of a collaboration between Munich soldier Klaus Maertens and mechanical engineer Herbert Funk. Today, celebs are proving these shoes can go with anything from sparkling dresses to all-black ensembles.

Helena Christensen and Amber Valletta recently prioritized both comfort and style when they rolled up to Vogue World Show in metallic dresses and boots made for walking. Halsey took a more traditional route, wearing them with black slacks and a long-sleeved, cropped T while walking through Paris. And Olivia Rodrigo went for an upscale Hot Topic look in a black T-shirt, plaid micro-mini and Doc Martens. Here’s how to find your own pair of Doc Martens and ones that look just like the real deal.
