Olympian Tara Lipinski Marries Todd Kapostasy in Romantic Charleston Wedding
Olympian Tara Lipinski is married! The figure skater-turned-NBC sports commentator wed Fox Sports producer Todd Kapostasy on Saturday, June 24, in Charleston, South Carolina, according to People.
The lovebirds exchanged vows at the opulent Middleton Place plantation. The bride, 35, wore a Reem Acra gown with 20-foot tulle skirt by designer Laura Basci, and Charlotte Olympia heels.
Lipinski’s bridesmaids donned floral tiaras, and the flower girls carried baskets created by her mother. The bride’s best friend and fellow figure skater, Johnny Weir, served as “bridesman.”
Guests included fellow sportscasters Bob Costas and Andrea Joyce, along with Lipinski’s former figure skating coach. The bride and groom’s loved ones arrived two days before the nuptials for a pre-wedding bash at Boone Hall in Mount Pleasant.
Romance was on the bride’s mind throughout the planning process. “I had a vision, because I love a very soft romantic palette so lots of creams, light colors, touches of green with flowers. We have orchids and roses on roses on roses,” she told People. “I’m stunned by how beautiful it is. We’ll also incorporate lanterns and arches to give the wedding an ultra-romantic vibe.”
Texas-based florist Jackson Durham provided the vast array of flowers, and Cru Catering served Southern-inspired dishes, such as fried chicken in waffle cones with maple bacon remoulade.
The newlyweds first met in May 2015 when Linpiski presented Kapostasy with a Sports Emmy award. In December of that year, Lipinski announced the couple’s engagement. “My life changed forever last night. I feel so lucky that I get to spend the rest of my life loving my best friend and love of my life,” she wrote, alongside a snap of the couple kissing and her massive engagement ring. “I’ve had many monumental happy days in my life but this by far is my happiest. I love you @toddkap.”

Lipinski previously toldThe Knot that being engaged was an amazing (and surprising!) feeling. “It’s much more exciting than I ever thought it would be,” she gushed. “We are not just planning our wedding but our future together, and it has started to sink in that we are going to spend forever together.”
Marriage is sure to bring added excitement, as Lipinski’s husband is “creative and very romantic,” according to newlywed. She concluded: “Like any girl, I love those special moments and surprises he always seems to come up with.”
