OMFG: Einstein’s Now Has A Mac and Cheese Bagel
Controversial opinion: The golden brown top of mac and cheese is the only bite worth taking. Sure the gooey inside is nice and all, but that well-done cheese layer is where it's at. Most mac and cheese mash-ups feature the creamy part - grilled cheese, hot dogs, pizza - which we'll eat ... because we're not monsters. But the newest carb-on-carb masterpiece has crispy top that we're kind of freaking out over: Einstein Bros. Bagels just announced they're now baking mac and cheese into their bagels.
Starting May 3, customers can order two different versions of the genius addition to the menu: a Cheesy Mac Breakfast and a Cheesy Mac Lunch. For breakfast goers, the mac and cheese bagel comes topped with thick-cut bacon, eggs and cheddar cheese. For lunch, expect ham, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo.
The chain also announced it'll start offering several other items, all Midwest-, South- and Southwest- inspired picks. Crispy chicken and tater bagel, anyone? Their green chile club on bagel with turkey bacon and pepper jack cheese sounds like it packs a punch, too.
The limited-time sandwiches are available at participating locations nationwide.
