Recently, Guinness World Records said, “We love all creatures great and small ... especially when they’re record breaking,” in a press release. “We’ve currently got a bunch of iconic animal records lying unclaimed, as well as ones that haven’t been broken in years. Your pet could be a record breaker!”

Among the pets they’re looking for are: The tallest horse, more than 20.3 hands without shoes; shortest horse, less than 17.5 inches to the withers; tallest dogs, male and female; longest dog’s tail, more than 30.2 inches; and longest cat whisker, more than 7.5 inches long.

By the way, there hasn’t been a record-breaking canine surfer since Abbie Girl (pictured), who achieved the longest wave surfed by a dog (open water) title for surfing 351.7 feet at Ocean Beach Dog Beach in San Diego in 2011. A well-rounded dog, Abbie Girl has also gone skydiving with her owner. (Photo: Guinness World Records)
