In One Ear: A home for Kalani

“Meet Kalani, APD’s Foster Dog!” a press release from the Astoria Police Department said.

Astoria Dispatch Senior Dispatcher Jodie Frost and Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Justin Dersham, animal control supervisor at the Clatsop County Animal Shelter, and Clatsop Animal Assistance coordinated this foster program to find forever homes for pets at the shelter.

Kalini, a house-trained pitbull mix will live at the station full-time and, since the station is manned 24 hours a day, her presence will be a great workplace stress reducer. Plus, everyone will be able help out with her care while she waits for her new home.

Want to meet her? Call 503-325-4411 to schedule a time. Or, call the shelter at 503-861-0737 for information about her, or any other animal they have available.

“Kalani is a beautiful girl, with a beautiful soul and a sweet smile,” Frost posted on her Facebook page. “What people also need to know is how tiny she is. She is the perfect pocket pittie ... She puts a smile on my face every day. If you are looking for someone to enhance your life, Kalani is your girl. Please help find her a forever home.” (Photo: Astoria Police Department)
