Is there any better way to celebrate New Year’s Eve than with your closest friends and family while sharing a beautiful meal together? Ringing in the new year doesn’t always have to equate to extravagant parties fueled by alcohol, though you can’t go wrong with that either. The truth of the matter is that there is just no denying the communal value of preparing a meal for those closest to you and celebrating yet another year of growth and prosperity together.

If anyone understands the value of celebrating over an extravagant meal, it’s Ina Garten. And if we were to take cues from anyone on how to elevate our New Year’s Eve plans, Garten would certainly be the go-to wealth of information we would seek out. Luckily for us, Garten actively gives fans a peek into her life through social media, regularly dulling out tips and recommendations for her followers to take home and try out themselves. And thanks to a recent video shared to Instagram by the Food Network star, we now know at least one ingredient that will absolutely be making it onto Garten’s New Year’s Eve menu: cheese.
In her video, Garten shares a look at a massive and beautiful display of cheeses while visiting a shop in St. Barts, France. “OMG I love shopping for New Year’s Eve dinner in Paris,” Garten exclaims in the caption of her post, while also hashtagging both #SayCheese and #Barthelemy.”

It is not yet clear what else the Barefoot Contessa might be adding to her menu, but we can only imagine she has something special up her sleeve seeing as she is currently island hopping for the holiday.

St. Barts is known for its luxury lifestyle, calm waters, beautiful villas and phenomenal restaurants. The stunning island’s laid back atmosphere is matched by its exceptional world-class cuisine, making it a no-brainer as to why it would attract the likes of Ina Garten. And as for the cheese selection, it looks as though Garten will be choosing from a stacked list of contenders including Venaco, Bleu de Termignon, Vieux-Boulogne, Fourme d'Ambert and much more. It would be safe to assume that Garten will be veering away from the norm for this year’s menu.
We can only imagine the amount of inspiration one could draw while visiting the island of St. Barts, which is why we are eagerly waiting to see what else Garten will be cooking up for the holiday. And if cheese is one of the highlighted ingredients, then you can certainly sign us up for more.
