Online Shoppers, Beware: You Can Now Get Banned from Amazon for Making Too Many Returns
Guilty of overusing the free returns through your Amazon account? You may want to rethink sending back every unwanted item.
According to a recent report in The Wall Street Journal, Amazon’s been cracking down on abusers of their lax return policy, with dozens of users posting on social media of instances where the retail giant, which reserves the right to terminate user accounts as it sees fit, shut down their accounts with seemingly no explanation. (Why, Prime, why?!)
“We never take these decisions lightly, but with over 300 million customers around the world, we take action when appropriate to protect the experience for all our customers,” an Amazon representative told CNET.
If your account gets shutdown, like one avid Amazon shopper who returned 37 (of what he describes as) faulty or damaged items of 343 total purchases, Amazon encourages you to reach out so “we can review your account and take appropriate action,” the representative said.
Thank God for the new Prime Samples service to try before you buy, am I right?! *Places giant Amazon order*
